Improvements to Coach Street, Victoria Street, Victoria Square and Hallam's Yard.
Skipton’s High Street Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) Programme aims to recognise the heritage of Skipton, enhance historic links to and from the High Street, maximise the potential of public open spaces, encourage more walking and cycling, and attract more people to Skipton including residents, visitors and young people.
Since the 1770s, Coach Street has been home to busy workshops and warehouses, storing goods arriving by canal and trading throughout the area. Today, Coach Street is a busy mix of independent businesses, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, private homes as well as providing the main route to Skipton's waterways and Canal Basin.
In order to make Skipton's 'Canal Quarter' more attractive and more accessible for everyone to enjoy, Craven District Council is working in partnership with North Yorkshire County Council and Historic England to develop a number of improvement proposals for the Coach Street area.
We would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes to consider the plans at https://www.cravendc.gov.uk/community-living/skipton-high-street-heritage-action-zone/
