1. Introduction

One Walsall is seeking the views of trustees, volunteers and staff of community groups and voluntary organisations operating in Walsall.

Responses will inform a State of the Sector report to be published later this year, which aims to illustrate the impact the sector delivers for communities and local partners, the challenges faced, and the support needed. The report will be a valuable tool for VCS organisations to use to demonstrate their impact locally and for partners and potential funders to better understand the value and needs of the sector.

No group is too small or too large – we want to hear from any not-for-profit group delivering any type of community activity or service in Walsall – from small community groups delivering informal social activities to national charities delivering commissioned services – all views are important.

We know your time is precious so, to provide a further incentive, each organisation that completes the survey will be entered in to a draw to win one of two £500 prizes to support the delivery of your services.

The survey should take 20-30 minutes to complete and you will need information from your latest accounts to answer all the questions.

What we will ask you
We will ask you to provide information about your organisation's work, staffing, volunteers, beneficiaries, finances, policies, monitoring, and challenges and opportunities.

All the information you provide will be held in confidence and in accordance with data protection legislation. When we write our report, we will ensure no individual organisation will be identifiable from their answers. We will share the report with all our members and partners once completed.

So, make yourself a cuppa, and help us to promote the positive impact of our sector…
