Age Scotland's About Dementia project is Scotland’s forum for improving lives. We work with people living with dementia and unpaid carers and supporters to shape policy and practice in Scotland.
We are currently developing grants programmes to support Dementia Friendly Communities, peer to peer resources, and grassroots activity for people living with dementia and their unpaid carers across Scotland.
We would like to hear from voluntary organisations and groups about their experiences of applying to funding opportunities and the support they may need, so that we can ensure our grants are as accessible as possible. We are particularly keen to hear from small or unconstituted groups working with people living with dementia and unpaid carers, but we are grateful for views from groups of all sizes and working with various communities across Scotland.
If you do not have experience applying for grants, we would still be very grateful for any thoughts you have about the support that you feel would be helpful if you were to consider applying for funding.
The results from this survey will inform the application process for About Dementia's upcoming grants programmes, including our Inspiring Grassroots Activity fund which is being delivered in partnership with the Scottish Government. We will be launching this fund at the beginning of July 2022, with awards between £5,000 - £20,000 and a focus on small groups.
If you would like to know more about this upcoming fund or to be notified once it launches, please contact About Dementia's Grants and Learning Coordinators:
