Thank you for taking the time to have your say on our proposal to increase council tax by 1.9 per cent in 2017/18.
A 1.9 per cent increase equates to an extra £1.17 a year for a Band D property.
Over the last six years, we have already made savings in excess of £5m following cuts to the grant we receive from Government and need to find another £1.4m this coming year. We are working hard to continue to find efficiencies from within the fire service but raising the council tax by 1.9 per cent will help in our efforts to protect the frontline.
